The Death of John Lewis

In the midst of violent and misguided uninformed protest, the first black American lies in state in the Rotunda of the Capital Building. The gentle soul that did so much for the black race and all people of color, now sits at the right hand of God.

Enjoy the Peace of Eternity John Lewis. You carried the torch earnestly through an oppressive battle. Hundreds of thousands of young black men and women live a better life as a result of your efforts.

I applaud and praise the posture of your life long protest, as non-violent, intellectual, and influential. You and the Rev Martin Luther King were a blessing to America.
